Between 2004 and 2010 I ran a non-governmental project to create non-formal learning experiences for young people, based in Damascus, Syria. This blog sets out some of my thoughts about the project, Syria, being away from home in London, and other stuff.
Masiaf citadel looks and is much smaller than Krak Des Chevaliers but is still a very substantial place, with six floor levels, and additions and extensions built over centuries. It's also less of a tourist hot-spot, so we were the only visitors there on the day.
